About Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvwavidyalayam

The SPMVV Distance Education CDOE conducts admission to its UG and PG programmes every year in the months of July and August. Students can apply for admission by submitting their applications before the deadline. Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvwavidyalayam was established in 1983 under the Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvwavidyalayam Act. It is a state women’s university located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. SPMVV’s Centre for Distance & Online Education (CDOE) was established in 2008 with the purpose of providing higher education opportunities for women who cannot pursue regular on-campus programmes.

The Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvwavidyalayam CDOE is approved by the UGC Distance Education Bureau (DEB) and is also accredited with an A+ grade by NAAC. SPMVV has been awarded ISO 21001:2018 certification for its educational management system. Students can apply for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses at SPMVV Distance Education. Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvwavidyalayam offers a Bachelor of Education course at the UG level and Master of Arts and Master of Commerce courses at the postgraduate level. The Master of Arts course includes two specializations, Music and Telugu. The method of instruction is provided in Telugu and English.

Eligibility Criteria for SPMVV Distance Education Courses

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)2 YearsThe minimum eligibility requires students to be trained in-service women teachers in Elementary Education with a minimum of 50% marks in a UG or PG degree. They are also required to have completed a NCTE-recognized Teacher Education programme through face-to-face mode with a minimum of 50% marks in a UG or PG degree. The Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/BC A-E/PH) will need a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying exam.
Master of Commerce (M.Com)2 YearsStudents must be a B.Com graduate from a recognized university.
Master of Arts (Telugu)2 YearsAny graduate degree from a recognized university, provided Telugu is a subject at the graduate level, is mandatory.
Master of Arts (Music)2 YearsAny degree with Vocal Music as a main subject or with a diploma/certificate in Vocal Music. Also, students with any degree with grading in Vocal conducted by the Music Audition Board of All India Radio, can apply for admission. Students with a degree of four years of systematic training from a Guru.
